About
Ever since she was a child, Stephanie has felt a strong connection with nature. She embraces the importance of living as a part of the natural world, rather than separate from it. And she knows that sharing that connectivity is critical to protecting nature on a global scale.
Driven by her kinship to the wild world, Stephanie focused on her path, took risks and traveled the world. She’s worked with – and learned from – biologists, conservation leaders, CEOs, farmers and fisherman in Africa, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the United States.
The more she experienced, the clearer it became how everyone, and everything, are connected in a complex, interconnected web of life.
As a wildlife conservation professional, she’s committed to raising awareness about the disconnect between modern society and the natural world. And she’s determined to explore and share how each of us can use our specific talents and skills to bridge that gap and make our planet a healthier place for generations to come.
Stephanie is uniquely prepared to reach that important goal, with a resume that reads like no other:
She’s worked in leading U.S. zoological parks, such as the San Diego Zoological Society, SeaWorld, the Honolulu Zoo Society, and Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.
She’s immersed herself in dive-scouting for whale sharks on the Australian Ningaloo Reef, seeing firsthand what threatens our magical underwater world.
She’s had a hands-on impact, raising money for Africa’s Camp Ohana Foundation and the construction of the first children’s library in Kenya.
Today, she is not only the host of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, but also a public speaker on global efforts in conservation and sustainability. Her insight has earned her a seat on the International Union of Conservation Nature‘s Education and Communication Commission.
In 2015, she was named one of the latest recipients of theAmbassador for the Planet Award, given by renowned environmental artist and conservationist, Wyland. That honor places her in a very select group that includes renowned naturalist Jane Goodall, iconic oceanographer Jacques-Yves Cousteau, former Vice President Al Gore, marine biologist Dr. Sylvia Earle, actor Robert Redford, and professional surfer Kelly Slater.
Recently, Stephanie became a Deep Elite Ambassador for Scubapro; was the subject of an article in Dive Alert Magazine; joined the advisory council for Ecology Project International; and became co-founder of The Creative Animal Foundation non-profit.
Stephanie has also been interviewed on Harry Connick Jr.’s new daytime show, “Harry!” as well as Animal Planet’s new show, “Animal Nation” with comedian, Anthony Anderson. She’s also featured on an episode of the DIY Network’s “Tiny House, Big Living”.
